WorldFaze Art Practice Presents Between and Almost Far from Hard Walls: A Solo Exhibition by Frank Coffie
WorldFaze Art Practice is pleased to present Between and Almost Far from Hard Walls, a compelling solo exhibition by Ghanaian emerging artist Frank Coffie, opening on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 6:00 PM. In his first solo exhibition in Ghana at Worldfaze Art Practice, Coffie introduces a deeply personal yet culturally resonant exploration of love, resilience, family, and the enduring strength found in independence.
The exhibition embodies a deliberate paradox that suggests a condition of perpetual negotiation, a psychological and emotional terrain where barriers are neither fully escaped nor completely enclosed. For Coffie, this liminal space reflects the state of being from which these works emerge: a place where vulnerability and endurance coexist, where memory becomes both haven and resistance.

Working with paint and yarn, Coffie dissolves traditional distinctions between fine art and textile practice. His portraits and figurative compositions are meticulously woven with strands of yarn that traverse painted surfaces, creating richly textured works in which thread functions as both material and metaphor. Through this innovative approach, the artist transforms the canvas into a tactile landscape where every stitch becomes an act of connection, resilience, and storytelling.
Embedded within these works are languages of belonging shaped by Ghanaian cultural nuances. Rather than offering direct representation, Coffie tucks memory into gesture, texture, and symbol, allowing everyday experiences and collective memories to unfold through layered surfaces. The yarn itself evokes domestic spaces, craft traditions, and intergenerational knowledge, transforming the canvas into a site where personal memories intertwine with broader cultural consciousness.
Between and Almost Far from Hard Walls invites viewers into an intimate encounter with the visible and invisible architectures that shape human experience. The exhibition reflects on the structures that define our lives, family, love, memory, culture, and selfhood, while questioning how individuals continue to construct meaning within, against, and beyond the boundaries imposed by society, history, and personal experience. In Frank Coffie’s hands, yarn becomes a language, painting becomes a testimony, and the act of creating becomes an affirmation of endurance, connection, and becoming.
WorldFaze Art Practice is proud to present this significant exhibition as part of its commitment to supporting innovative contemporary artists whose practices challenge convention and foster meaningful dialogue.
